The Search widget puts a search bar right on your dashboard so you can search the web without opening a new tab first. Pick your favorite search engine and start typing.

#How to Use

Type your query in the search bar and press Enter or click the search button to go. The placeholder text shows which search engine is active (for example, "Search Google...").

#Choosing a Search Engine

Click the engine icon on the right side of the search bar to open the engine picker. Nine search engines are available:

  • Google
  • DuckDuckGo
  • Bing
  • YouTube
  • GitHub
  • Stack Overflow
  • Wikipedia
  • Reddit
  • Perplexity

Your choice is saved automatically and stays selected the next time you open your start page.

#Widget Settings

  • Open in New Tab - when turned on, search results open in a new browser tab and the search field is cleared after you submit. When turned off (the default), the search replaces your current tab.

#Tips

  • The Search widget hides its title and icon by default for a clean, minimal look - just the search bar.
  • Switch engines depending on what you're looking for: YouTube for videos, GitHub for code, Wikipedia for quick facts, Stack Overflow for programming questions.
  • Add multiple Search widgets to your dashboard if you frequently use more than one engine.
